Abergeldie is located at Smeaton, in the fertile Central Highlands region of Victoria, just 90 minutes from Melbourne, 15 minutes from the beautiful Daylesford/Hepburn Springs area, and 25 minutes from Ballarat, home of the world renound Sovereign Hill.

Directions to Abergeldie from Daylesford
  • Follow the signs out of Daylesford toward Ballarat (Highway No. A300).
  • Continue along this road until you reach Blampied (approx. 12km or 7-10 minutes drive).
  • Turn right at the five road intersection, just past the Swiss Mountain Hotel, following the sign towards Clunes .
  • Drive approximately 6km until you reach a T-intersection, then turn right.
  • Take the next left (approx. 500m).
  • Follow this road until you reach the town of Smeaton (approx. 5km).
  • At the STOP sign, turn right towards Abergeldie.
  • After approximately 500m you will see 'Abergeldie Country House and Cottages' on your left.
  • The driveway entrance is just after the 100km/hr road sign.

Directions to Abergeldie from Melbourne (via the Western Freeway)
  • From Melbourne take the Western Freeway towards Ballarat
  • Turn off the Western Freeway at the Wallace/Creswick/Bungaree exit (after the Daylesford exit), and then immediately turn right to take the bridge over the freeway.
  • At the cross roads intersection (approx. 2km), turn left.
  • Continue until you reach a T-intersection (approx. 10km), then turn right.
  • After 1km you will reach a STOP sign, turn right.
  • Drive on for approximately 15km until you reach the roundabout at Newlyn - Turn left.
  • Turn right at the Kingston/Newstead turnoff (approx. 4km).
  • Drive for approximately 6km to a Give-Way sign - Turn right towards Smeaton.
  • After 4km you will reach the town of Smeaton.
  • Continue for 500m past the Hotel and you will see 'Abergeldie Country House and Cottages' on your left.
  • The driveway entrance is just after the 100km/hr road sign.
