Exoteric Astrology

Course Structure

This Certificate conducted over four terms, consists of four units and six weekly classes per term, offering comprehensive texts which lead the student sequentially through the vast study of astrology. Fortnightly classes give students the opportunity to integrate the practical side of astrology in an informative and supportive environment. They have the benefit of more than five decades of Zachary's and Chandra's combined experience.

Units 1 - 3

Unit One Broad Introduction to Exoteric Astrology This unit covers astrology's history down through the ages as well as it's link with Theosophy, the Divine Wisdom. The various types of astrology - sidereal, tropical, geocentric and heliocentric will be introduced. Astrology and its relevance in the modern era; it's value in personal and spiritual growth; and the role of the professional astrologer will also be explored.

Unit Two
Foundations of
Exoteric Astrology

This Unit explores the impact of the planets as they express through the zodiacal signs and influence human nature. These energies pour forth through the aspect patterns and houses of the natal chart to make themselves evident in our personal lives and yearnings and soul accomplishments.

Unit Three Further Foundational Principles A large variety of interpretative formulae, techniques and skills which form the basis of Exoteric Astrology are taught in this Unit. These tools will open the doors of insight into human nature as viewed through the nativity. Case studies form a core aspect of this Unit. Learning to cast charts on the computer programme SolarFire is part of this Unit.

 

Certificate as a pre-requisite to the Diploma

Entry into the Diploma of Exoteric Astrology, which comprises a further twelve months of study, will be offered to those students who successfully complete the Certificate. The following Units will be available at this stage. Students who have formal training elsewhere are welcome to apply for entry to this course.

Units 4 - 7

 

	Unit Four Tools of Synthesis In this unit students gain some synthesis skills as they learn to look at the nativity as a whole. The nuances of chart configuration and the combined energies of the Sun, Moon and Ascendant serve to give an overview of the psychological make-up and life purpose of an individual.
	Unit Five Spiritual Dimensions Study in this unit will include an understanding of some of the spiritual components of the birthchart. The nodal path will be examined and the planets Chiron, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto will be explored from the perspective of spiritual awakening.
	Unit Six Relationship Dynamics We exist in common with many people, our families, friends, peers and intimates. The nativity teaches that we discover ourselves through our connections with others. In this Unit we will explore through chart comparison the intricacies of synastry in relationships with partners, children, parents, colleagues and other seekers of the Light. Composite charts will also be studied.
	Unit Seven Future Directions This final unit covers some of the many ways of looking into the future through the astrological lens. Including in the in-depth study are Secondary Progressions, Transits, Solar Returns, Age Point, Eclipses and Fixed Stars. At this stage of the studies the student is expected to demonstrate proficiency in basic analysis and will learn to link the natal chart to the future directions.

 

 

College Policies

The College reserves the right to cease educating any student whom it deems not suitable for astrological training. The College also reserves the right to make alterations to the curriculum, fees, times and venues as it deems appropriate or necessary.

Location

Classes for all courses vary subjecto to student interest and location.  They will provide an opportunity to network; gain first hand access to the teacher/s; get practical advice and know-how and gain insight into the charts of self, family and friends. They will provide the opportunity to begin to blend the myriad facets of astrology and the esoteric sciences into a comprehensive psychological picture of our human and spiritual selves.

 

Course Requirements and Assignments

Assignments in all courses require a higher degree of personal motivation, reading, research and study. They comprise a key component of this Course.

In the Exoteric Certificate each Unit of study contains several topics and respective assignment questions. These questions can be answered on the basis of the material provided in the compendiums, however students would be well advised to undertake further reading on the subjects.

Compendiums are not provided for the esoteric studies, however several excellent reference books are recommended and will be referred to frequently throughout the courses. Assignments will also be an integral part of the esoteric courses.

They are provided to assist the student in gaining a thorough comprehension of the topic at hand. It is not necessary to produce higher academic standards, however if you wish to receive a Certificate or Diploma for your studies then all Unit assignments must be completed.

Some students may choose to study without submitting assignments. This approach to the studies is welcome, however Certificates and Diplomas will only be available to those who compete 85% of all classes or workshops, complete all written assignments and complete payment of fees. Students may take longer than indicated to finish their written assignments if they so choose.
