Air Experience Flights for non-club members:

Air Experience Flights with qualified pilots are available at the Ararat Aerodrome on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays, with Mid Week by arrangement.  Each flight inludes GFA short term membership, a video and photo.

Air Experience Flights are also available in the new year at Port Fairy and at Easter they are available at Jallukar (between Moyston and Pomonal).

The rates for Club members:

All gliders are charged at the rate of 50 cents/minute.

There is a maximum charge of 3 hours for any one flight.

Launching may be by winch or aerotow:

  • Winch launch charge is $6.00 per launch.
  • Aerotow charge is $4.50 per minute.
  • Club membership is $135 per year.
  • Compulsory GFA membership is $205 per year ($127.50 for students).
  • AEF charges at Ararat - $90, at Port Fairy $90 (2000 ft), $120 (3000 ft), $150 (4000 ft).
  • There is a once only $30 nomination fee for new members.
Limited hangarage is available at the following rates:
  • Club members, short term -  $21 per week;
  • Club members, long term   -  $550 per annum, paid in advance;
  • Non members, short term  -  $25 per week.
