Victoria used to be awash with gay and lesbian weekly newpapers, a great source of information and advice. While it is hard to find a copy in Geelong, free copies are readily available in book shops and cafe's in the gay and lesbian precints in Melbourne and if your lucky around Deakin University Waterfront and Waurn Ponds Campuses

Check out the cafe strip in Commercial Road South Yarra or the gay and lesbian friendly "Prahran Market Medical Centre".
